Kebbi Govt Donates Four Hilux Vehicles to MOPOL

The Kebbi State Government has strengthened internal security operations with the donation of four brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Mobile Police (MOPOL) unit of the Nigeria Police Force in the state.

The vehicles were officially handed over on Monday at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, on behalf of Governor Nasir Idris.

Speaking during the presentation, the SSG said the donation underscored the administration’s firm commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

According to him, the governor approved the release of the operational vehicles to enhance police mobility and strengthen internal security, particularly in areas facing urgent security challenges.

“This presentation is a symbol of the importance this administration attaches to security. To support manpower deployment in our urban centres and improve internal security, the governor directed that these vehicles be released to the Mobile Police Unit,” Tafida said.

He disclosed that the vehicles would be strategically deployed to Badariya, Ambursa, Kalgo and Makera to improve patrols and rapid response in the affected areas.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Police Command, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of MOPOL, ACP Aliyu Abubakar Jega, expressed deep appreciation to the Kebbi State Government for the support.
ACP Jega described Governor Idris’ intervention as exceptional, noting that such level of commitment to security was rare.

“I have served in different state commands, but the support from His Excellency in addressing security challenges is unprecedented and highly commendable,” he said.

He assured the government that the vehicles would be deployed judiciously to curb crime, criminality and banditry across the state.

The brief ceremony ended with the formal handover of the vehicle keys to the MOPOL Commander, marking an immediate boost to patrol and operational capacity in the designated areas.
