Speaker Abbas Dismisses Rift Rumours, Reaffirms Strong Ties with Kaduna Governor

by Imran Musa

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has dismissed reports of a rift between him and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, describing their relationship as cordial and anchored on a shared commitment to the development of Kaduna State.

Abbas made the clarification while speaking on the sidelines of the distribution of 60,000 bags of fertiliser under the Renewed Hope Fertiliser Distribution 2026 Programme in Zaria.

Responding to speculation of a falling-out between the two All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, the Speaker said there had never been a period when relations between the Kaduna State Government and members of the National Assembly from the state were as cordial as they are now.

He said his relationship with Governor Sani is built on trust, mutual respect and a common determination to improve the welfare of the people through purposeful leadership and effective collaboration.

According to Abbas, attempts by some individuals to create division between them would not succeed, as both leaders remain focused on delivering democratic dividends to the people of Kaduna State.

The Speaker also appealed to members of the APC to remain united and refrain from actions capable of creating unnecessary divisions within the ruling party. He cautioned party faithful against spreading rumours, engaging in gossip or allowing personal interests to undermine the party’s collective goals.

Abbas stressed that political differences should not distract leaders from their responsibility to promote development and good governance, urging party members to conduct their political activities peacefully while prioritising the unity and progress of the APC.

Reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance, the Speaker said his office serves the interests of all residents of Kaduna State, regardless of political affiliation or geographical location. He pledged continued support for programmes and projects aimed at improving livelihoods, boosting agricultural productivity and accelerating socio-economic development across the state.

He further called on residents to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to improve the lives of Nigerians through investments in agriculture, infrastructure and economic development.

Abbas expressed confidence that sustained collaboration between elected officials at the federal and state levels would attract more people-oriented projects and enhance the standard of living of Kaduna residents.

He reaffirmed his resolve to continue working closely with Governor Uba Sani and other stakeholders to ensure the state benefits from effective governance and sustainable development.
