Gov. Idris Urges Nigerians to Enter New Year With Renewed Hope

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has called on Nigerians to embrace the New Year with renewed hope, faith, and optimism, urging citizens to remain committed to peace, unity, and national development.

 

The governor made the call in his 2026 New Year message to the people of Kebbi State and Nigerians at large, describing the season as a period for reflection, gratitude, and collective resolve toward building a better nation.

 

Governor Idris encouraged Nigerians to pray fervently for divine intervention as the country continues to confront socio-economic, political, and security challenges. He stressed that peace remains a critical foundation for meaningful development, noting that progress cannot thrive in an atmosphere of insecurity.

 

He also appealed to citizens to use the festive period to show compassion and generosity, particularly to the less privileged in society.

“This is a period of gratitude, prayer, love, peace and celebration. As we exchange gifts and share joy, let us renew our commitment to peace, mutual respect and progress,” the governor said.

 

The governor further urged Nigerians to extend support to vulnerable members of society, stressing that kindness and selflessness are essential values that strengthen social harmony and national unity.

 

According to him, the New Year presents another opportunity for collective action toward building a prosperous Kebbi State and a better Nigeria.

 

Governor Idris reiterated his administration’s commitment to executing people-oriented developmental projects across the state, assuring residents that his government remains focused on improving their welfare and ensuring inclusive growth.

 

He also appealed for sustained cooperation and support from the people to enable the government to deliver more dividends of democracy.

 

“Together, we can build a prosperous Kebbi State and Nigeria of our dream. On behalf of the Kebbi State Government, I congratulate everyone for witnessing yet another year,” he said.
