The Kebbi State Government has confirmed the safe rescue of the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Samaila Muhammad Bagudu, from the hands of his abductors.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida, the government said the rescue operation was carried out by joint security forces, describing the development as a testament to its unwavering commitment to the safety and security of citizens.
According to the statement, Hon. Samaila is in good health and high spirits following his rescue and is currently receiving necessary care and support.
“The government is relieved to confirm that Hon. Samaila is in good health and high spirits, and is receiving all necessary support and care. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the joint security forces for their tireless efforts in ensuring the successful rescue operation,” the statement read in part.
Yakubu Tafida reiterated the Kebbi State Government’s determination to continue working closely with security agencies to combat banditry and other forms of insecurity across the state.
He further assured that the government would “leave no stone unturned” in creating a safe and secure environment for all citizens and residents.
The statement also appealed to the public to support security agencies in their operations and to remain vigilant by reporting any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
It could be recalled that the Deputy Speaker was kidnapped on the 31 of October 2025 in Bagudo.
