Kebbi Governor Felicitates Nigerians on 65th Independence Anniversary, Emphasizes Unity and Development

Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria – As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has extended heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government, and the entire nation. The Governor’s goodwill message, delivered on October 1, 2025, highlighted the significance of national unity, patriotism, and the collective progress of all Nigerians.

Governor Idris, acknowledged the journey Nigeria has undertaken since gaining independence, celebrating the nation’s rich cultural diversity as a source of strength. He emphasized the importance of coming together as one people to face the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“The journey of Nigeria over the past 65 years has been one of resilience, and while challenges remain, we must continue to strive for unity, patriotism, and progress,” Governor Idris said. “It is through collective efforts that we will build a more prosperous and secure nation, and in Kebbi State, we are committed to contributing to this vision.”

In his message, the Governor paid tribute to the founding fathers and all those who have contributed to Nigeria’s unity. He also recognized the sacrifices made in ensuring the country’s continued existence, while reaffirming his administration’s dedication to transparency, diligence, and patriotism in service to the people.

Governor Idris restated his administration’s focus on key developmental sectors in the state, including:

1. Education: The construction of multipurpose, fully equipped mega schools to provide secondary education, skills acquisition, and ICT training.

2. Infrastructure: Continued upgrading of government institutions, beautification of major streets, installation of modern roundabouts, and the introduction of solar-powered streetlights across the state.

3. Agriculture: The provision of solar-powered irrigation pumps to enable year-round farming and the distribution of free fertilizers to farmers, with the aim of boosting food security.

4. Healthcare: Enhancing healthcare services and improving access to quality medical care for the people of Kebbi State.

5. Economic Empowerment: Launching new programs aimed at stimulating economic growth and providing more job opportunities for the youth and other vulnerable groups.

Governor Idris urged the people of Kebbi State to continue working together in unity, to set aside differences for the sake of peace, security, and sustainable development. He expressed his gratitude to the people of the state for their support and prayers, which he said have enabled his administration to achieve meaningful progress despite the challenges faced.

In closing, the Governor aligned his message with the Federal Government’s theme for this year’s Independence celebration, “All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.” He encouraged Nigerians to renew their commitment to patriotism, selflessness, and prayers for the continued progress of the country and effective leadership at all levels.

The Governor’s message concluded with an appeal to all Nigerians to continue to work for the growth and prosperity of the country, especially as the nation enters its next phase of development.
