Kebbi Govt Reiterates Commitment to Development Despite Criticism

The Kebbi State Government says it remains focused on delivering meaningful development across the state and will not be distracted by criticism.

 

Governor Nasir Idris stated this in Birnin Kebbi while receiving a Toyota Prado Jeep and an 18-seater Toyota bus donated to the Office of the Kebbi State Ambassador for the Renewed Hope Agenda.

 

He said his administration is on the right path, adding that the people of Kebbi State can testify to the numerous developmental projects executed to improve their welfare. The Governor stressed that while constructive criticism strengthens democracy, selfish and unfounded criticism only seeks to derail progress.

 

Governor Idris explained that government is a continuous process, noting that his administration inherited several challenges but is committed to completing ongoing and inherited projects for the benefit of citizens.

 

He congratulated the Kebbi Ambassador for the Renewed Hope Agenda, retired Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration Sambo Gwandu, describing his appointment as well deserved. He said he nominated him with full confidence in his capacity to deliver and assured him of the state government’s full support.

 

The Governor reaffirmed the state’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the President has demonstrated genuine commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians.

 

In his remarks, ACG Sambo Gwandu (rtd.) thanked the Governor for the trust reposed in him. He explained that the Renewed Hope Agenda aims to enlighten citizens on the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration and the developmental strides of Governor Nasir Idris.

 

He noted that many people are not well informed about government policies, programmes, and accomplishments, which leads to misconceptions. He emphasized the importance of public awareness, saying, “You have to blow your trumpet, because if you don’t, nobody will blow it for you.”

 

Sambo Gwandu called for stronger collaboration with the media to ensure citizens are properly educated about government activities at both state and national levels.
