The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Usman Zuru, has commended the joint efforts of the federal and state governments, as well as security agencies, following the safe release of the abducted students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Speaker praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Nasir Idris, and the various security operatives for their swift and coordinated actions, describing the development as a major relief to the families, the people of Kebbi State, and Nigerians at large.
Rt. Hon. Usman Zuru also thanked the President for directing the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, to relocate to Kebbi State to supervise the rescue efforts, an intervention he described as decisive and instrumental to the successful operation.
The Speaker further appreciated religious leaders, community stakeholders, and the general public for their prayers and support throughout the ordeal.
He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and united in the face of ongoing security challenges, reaffirming the commitment of the Kebbi State House of Assembly to supporting government policies that safeguard the lives and rights of all citizens.
