Kebbi State has been commended for the remarkable reforms and progress recorded in the conduct of Hajj operations under the leadership of Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu).

Delivering the commendation, the Zonal Coordinator of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States, Alhaji Mustapha Abbas, expressed delight over the achievements of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency.

He praised the Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Yaro (Jagaban Gwandu), for his outstanding efforts in advancing the Hajj sector not only in Kebbi State but across the country.
According to him, Jagaban Gwandu was among the key figures who worked tirelessly to ensure a reduction in this year’s Hajj fare, thereby easing the financial burden on intending pilgrims.

In his response, Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Yaro called on NAHCON to consider utilizing the Hajj development levies contributed by pilgrims over the years to fund special developmental projects, such as renovating parts of the airport or constructing a hospital, among other community-benefiting initiatives.
