Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris,, has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the dualisation of the Argungu old bye-pass township road.
The governor made this known on Tuesday during an inspection tour of ongoing dual carriageway projects in Argungu, the headquarters of Argungu Local Government Area.
Governor Idris recalled that the contract for the dualisation of the township road, including the installation of streetlights, was awarded on October 18, 2024, in line with his administration’s campaign promises to the people of Kebbi State.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering infrastructural development and other dividends of democracy across the state.
“I must confess that I am satisfied with what I have seen on the ground. I commend the contractor and the Ministry of Works for the effective supervision of the project,” the governor said.
He also lauded residents of Argungu for their cooperation with the contractor, noting that their support has contributed to the smooth execution of the project.
Governor Idris further urged the people of Kebbi State to continue supporting his administration to enable it deliver more development projects.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Farouk Muslim, thanked the governor for providing the ministry with the necessary backing to ensure the delivery of quality projects.
“Your Excellency, we assure you that, In-Sha-Allah, we will deliver a quality job in line with the contract specifications and within the stipulated timeframe,” the commissioner said.
The Argungu township road project is expected to enhance urban mobility, improve safety, and boost economic activities in the area upon completion.
