Sanusi Danbuga Challenges ADC Argungu Primary as Court Adjourns Hearing

The Federal High Court in Birnin Kebbi has resumed hearing in a suit challenging the Africa Democratic Congress, ADC, primary election for the Argungu State Assembly Constituency.

 

The case was instituted by Honourable Sanusi Danbuga Dan Agaji, who is challenging the outcome of the party’s primary election that produced Lawal Ibrahim as the ADC candidate for the constituency.

 

At Tuesday’s proceedings, counsel to the plaintiff sought the court’s leave to file a reply out of time to a motion earlier filed out of time by the third and fifth defendants. The application was granted.

 

Counsel representing the first, fourth and sixth defendants also applied for permission to file additional court processes.

 

Following the applications, the presiding judge, Justice Emmanuel Gakko, adjourned the matter until Tuesday, July 14, for the hearing of the pending motions.

 

The case is expected to determine issues arising from the conduct and outcome of the ADC primary election for the Argungu State Assembly Constituency.
