President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, to participate in the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit.
The President’s aircraft, Nigeria Air Force One (NAF 1), landed at about 11:30 p.m. local time on Sunday and he was received by the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan.
President Tinubu is attending the summit at the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who formally requested Nigeria’s participation in the high-level global forum.
The summit, which runs from January 11 through the week, brings together world leaders from government, business and civil society to discuss and shape the future of sustainable development globally.
With the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” the 2026 edition of ADSW focuses on translating ambition into action across innovation, finance and human capital, with emphasis on climate resilience, clean energy transition and inclusive economic growth.
During the event, President Tinubu is expected to hold strategic engagements with global leaders on sustainable development, climate action and investment opportunities aligned with Nigeria’s development priorities.
The President is scheduled to return to Nigeria at the conclusion of the summit.
