President Bola Tinubu has ruled out the return of fuel subsidy, describing the policy as a thing of the past while promising economic recovery and improved living conditions.
He stated this at the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign in Kaduna State on Saturday.
The President said his administration’s economic reforms would promote growth, prosperity and opportunities, while tackling hunger and poverty.
Tinubu also commended APC governors for their developmental efforts, insisting that the ruling party was working to improve Nigerians’ welfare.
He urged Nigerians, particularly youths, to support his re-election bid in 2027, promising that a second term would consolidate ongoing reforms and development programmes.
The President’s position comes amid continued public concerns over rising living costs and economic hardship following the removal of fuel subsidy.
