The Kebbi State Government has reiterated its commitment to tackling security challenges across the state, saying it has made and is still making heavy investments to ensure the safety of lives and property.
Governor Nasir Idris gave the assurance while declaring open a one-day security summit organized by the Kebbi Elders Consultative Forum in collaboration with the state government, held in Birnin Kebbi.
He stressed that the administration will sustain the tempo of ongoing efforts to secure communities, noting that the active involvement of local communities is vital to identifying the root causes of insecurity and proffering lasting solutions.
The governor also emphasized the need for enhanced intelligence gathering and sharing among security agencies, as well as greater synergy between security outfits. He called for collective collaboration in the task of promoting peace and security.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Kebbi Elders Consultative Forum, Senator Muhammadu Magoro—represented by the First Vice Chairman, retired Justice Sulaiman Muhamad Ambursa—said the summit was convened to address critical security concerns in the state.
He described the event as a platform to exchange ideas and chart a roadmap for peace and stability, commending Governor Idris for his unwavering support to security agencies, which he said reflects government’s genuine commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
