The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has called on the state government to explain the reported provision of ten Hilux vehicles in December 2025 in connection with the Sokoto–Badagry highway project.

In a statement, the Director Strategic  Communications  of the ADC Campaign Council in Kebbi State, Bello Abdullahi, said the public deserves transparency and accountability in the management of government funds.

The party is seeking details of the total cost of the vehicles, the budget under which they were procured, the company that supplied them, and the procurement process adopted by the government.

It also wants the government to clarify which agency received the vehicles, their intended purpose, and the arrangements for their maintenance, fuelling, insurance and other operational expenses.

The ADC stressed that its demand was not an opposition to development projects or cooperation between federal and state governments, but a call for proper documentation, accountability and public disclosure. It acknowledged the importance of the Sokoto–Badagry highway project in boosting transportation, trade and economic activities.

The party urged the Kebbi State Government to provide detailed explanations and relevant documents for public scrutiny, insisting that citizens have the right to know how public funds are spent and the benefits they derive from such expenditure.
