APC ACCUSES ATIKU, ADC OF PLOT TO DISCREDIT KADUNA RALLY

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress of planning to discredit the party’s presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna.

In a statement issued on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the council’s spokesperson, Dele Alake, alleged that Atiku and the ADC were using misinformation, artificial intelligence-generated content and manipulated documents to discredit President Bola Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and other APC leaders.

Alake cited a photograph of a security vehicle near an APC campaign billboard, which he said was misrepresented as evidence that security agents were deployed to protect the billboards.

He also alleged that a purported letter claiming the Kaduna State Government released two-point-three trillion naira to host the rally was circulated online. Alake described the letter as fake, arguing that the amount exceeded the state’s combined budgets for 2024, 2025 and 2026.

The spokesperson further alleged that old, doctored and deepfake videos would be circulated during the rally to create the impression that residents were opposed to the event. However, the statement did not provide independent evidence linking Atiku or the ADC to the alleged activities.

The APC campaign council urged Nigerians to verify information before sharing it and remain vigilant against what it described as coordinated disinformation targeting the party’s campaign.
