The newly posted Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kebbi State, Corps Commander Rukayya Mustapha Z. Abubakar, has called for synergy and stronger collaboration between the Corps and the media to enhance public enlightenment on road safety.
Corps Commander Rukayya made the call during a courtesy visit to Radio Nigeria Equity FM, Birnin Kebbi, where she stressed the need for sustained partnership in educating road users on safe driving practices and strict compliance with traffic regulations.
She explained that the visit was to formally introduce herself to the management of the station and to seek its support in amplifying FRSC programmes and activities through effective radio engagement.
The Sector Commander described the media as a key stakeholder in road safety management, noting that continuous sensitisation via radio programmes would help reduce road traffic crashes, safeguard lives and property, and instil discipline among motorists and other road users across the state.
She assured that the FRSC would intensify its public enlightenment campaigns and expressed readiness to work closely with Equity FM by leveraging the station’s platforms for regular awareness programmes.
In his response, the General Manager of Equity FM, Birnin Kebbi, Malam Adamu Muhammad welcomed the Sector Commander and assured her of the station’s commitment to partnering with the FRSC in promoting road safety messages.
The visit also featured discussion on possible joint programmes, jingles and interactive sessions to deepen public understanding of FRSC operations for safety on Kebbi State roads.
