The Kebbi State Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security has received the leadership of the Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS, Kebbi State Command, on a courtesy visit at the Ministry’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
The NFSS delegation was received by the Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security, the Permanent Secretary of Internal Security, Alhaji Kabiru Adamu, and the Director of Internal Security, Alhaji Nafi’u Bello S. Gabas.
The visit was aimed at formally introducing the newly appointed State Commander of the Nigeria Forest Security Service, Kebbi State Command, Haliru Muhammad Umar, and at strengthening institutional collaboration between the Service and the Ministry.
During the meeting, the Nigeria Forest Security Service emphasized the need for sustained cooperation to enhance forest security, protect rural communities, and support the overall security architecture of Kebbi State, particularly through intelligence sharing, community engagement, and coordinated security operations.
The Service also requested strategic guidance, institutional support, and logistical assistance from the Kebbi State Government through the Ministry to enable the effective protection of lives, property, and forest resources across the state.
In his response, the Permanent Secretary of Internal Security, Alhaji Kabiru Adamu, commended the initiative and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with the Nigeria Forest Security Service, describing the visit as timely and a positive step toward strengthening forest and community security in Kebbi State.
