Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the development of Zuru Emirate and Kebbi South Senatorial District, assuring that ongoing and new projects in the area will be delivered as promised.

The governor gave the assurance in Birnin Kebbi when he received a delegation from Kebbi South, led by the newly appointed Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Sunusi Mikailu Sami Gomo III, who came to thank him for the Emir’s appointment and reappointment of Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa as Managing Director of National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (NHYPPADEC)
Governor Nasir Idris said the choice of Emir Sunusi Mikailu Sami Gomo III reflected the wishes of the Zuru people, noting that the massive show of love after his appointment was evidence that the right choice had been made.

The governor assured that the Koko-Dabai Road construction would be completed before the stipulated time, and disclosed that approval had been given for the rehabilitation of Zuru General Hospital, with new equipment already arriving.
He also highlighted achievements in security, saying peace had returned to several communities, enabling displaced persons to return to their homes and farmlands.
Governor Idris thanked the people of Zuru for their support, prayed for the emir’s sound health and wisdom, and wished the delegation a safe journey back home.
In his remarks, Emir Sunusi Mikailu Sami Gomo III expressed gratitude to the people of Zuru for escorting him on the appreciation visit and thanked the governor for the support rendered to his late predecessor, the award of the Koko-Dabai Road construction, and the establishment of a modern skill acquisition centre, and assured of the total support and loyalty of Zuru Emirate to the state government.

Senator Muhammadu Magoro commended the governor for appointing the new emir and for the support extended to the Zuru Emirate, particularly the assistance rendered to the late Emir during his illness and burial.
Similarly, the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, thanked the governor on behalf of the people of Kebbi South for the appointment of the emir and the reappointment of the Managing Director of NHYPPADEC.
During the visit, the Zuru Concerned Citizens Forum presented an Award of Excellence to Governor Idris in recognition of his contributions to the area.
