Governor Idris Reaffirms Support for Traditional Institutions in Kebbi

Governor Nasir Idris has restated his administration’s commitment to strengthening and supporting traditional institutions across Kebbi State.

The Governor gave the assurance while receiving a delegation from Maiyama Local Government Area at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi. The delegation visited to thank him for the appointment of Alhaji Haliru Haruna Maiyama as Sarkin Kudun Maiyama and Dr. Faruk Abdullahi Maiyama as Sarkin Gabas na Sarandosa.

Governor Idris described his government as people-oriented and open to constructive advice and suggestions that would enhance the development of the state. He disclosed that several projects executed by his administration, which are designed to positively impact the lives of the people, have been completed and are awaiting commissioning by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Responding to requests for the establishment of a boarding school and perimeter fencing of the Maiyama General Hospital, the Governor assured that the matters would be given due consideration. He also urged the people to remain vigilant, security-conscious, and to promptly report suspicious activities or persons to the relevant authorities.

Earlier, leader of the delegation, Alhaji Atiku Bunu, said the visit was to convey appreciation to the Governor for appointing the two sons of Maiyama as district heads. He also appealed for the establishment of a boarding school in the area and fencing of the General Hospital to address recurring cases of theft.
