The Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has described his Kebbi State counterpart, Dr Nasir Idris, as a generous, hardworking and visionary leader with the charisma and capacity to lead Kebbi State for eight years.
Governor Zulum made the remarks when Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, led other media aides to pay him a courtesy visit in Maiduguri.
He said Governor Idris had demonstrated commitment to unity, development and people-oriented governance, noting that his leadership qualities make him deserving of continuity in office.
Governor Zulum also commended the Kebbi State Government for its achievements in education, agriculture, healthcare, road infrastructure and empowerment, as well as efforts to address security challenges.
He recalled his visit to Kebbi State last year, saying he was impressed by the pace of development and transformation taking place across the state.
The Borno Governor therefore urged the people of Kebbi State to support Governor Idris to complete eight years in office, saying this would enable him consolidate his achievements and ensure sustainable development across various sectors.
Earlier, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture said the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between Kebbi and Borno States.
He said the delegation also sought to understudy Borno’s experience in security management and public communication.
The Commissioner recalled that the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba Al-Amin El-Kanemi, had conferred the traditional title of Zannan Borno on Governor Nasir Idris, describing the honour as a symbol of the enduring friendship between the two states.
He also highlighted some achievements of the Kebbi administration, including investments in education, healthcare, roads, agriculture and human capital development.
