The Kebbi State House of Assembly has received a petition alleging gross misconduct against the Chairman of Maiyama Local Government, Honourable Adamu Aliyu Liba.
During plenary, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Honourable Mohammed Usman Zuru, read the petition submitted by the Maiyama Local Government Progressive Union.
The petition accuses the chairman of several acts of misconduct, including the alleged conversion of the Local Government’s 18-seater Toyota bus for personal use; failure to complete the electricity supply project from Maiyama to Andarai despite claims of full payment to the contractor; and the alleged sale of two caterpillar machines and a fill-loader belonging to the Local Government.
Other allegations include the unauthorized sale of nearly all plots at the Dadin Kowa Market in collaboration with associates.
Following the presentation of the petition, the Speaker, Mohammed Usman Zuru, directed the House Committee on Public Petitions, chaired by the Chief Whip, Muhammad Sani Garba Tiggi, to investigate the matter and report back to the House next week for further legislative action.
