As part of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the Kebbi State Government has donated six Toyota Hilux vehicles and 30 motorcycles to the Nigerian Army.
Governor Nasir Idris made the presentation during a brief handover ceremony at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, where he handed the allocation letter and keys to the 8 Division Tactical Commander, Colonel Hussaini Rabiu Toro.
Speaking at the event, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s determination to continue supporting security agencies in the state. He explained that the donation was aimed at easing the operational challenges of security personnel in their efforts to protect lives and property.
Governor Idris noted that the vehicles and motorcycles were specifically allocated to the 8 Division Tactical Squad deployed to Kebbi State, stressing that the gesture complements the Federal Government’s ongoing fight against insecurity. He further disclosed that additional vehicles would soon be provided to other security agencies to enhance their efficiency.
“The vehicles are meant to strengthen security operations across Kebbi State. We will continue to partner with the military, police, and other agencies to ensure peace and safety for our people,” the governor said.
In his response, Colonel Hussaini Rabiu Toro commended the governor for the gesture and assured that the vehicles and motorcycles would be deployed strictly for security operations. He also appreciated the governor’s unwavering support to the military’s mission of protecting lives and property, praying for God’s guidance and wisdom for him in steering the affairs of the state.
It will be recalled that in 2024, the Kebbi State Government donated 75 Hilux vehicles to the Nigerian Army and the Police, in addition to motorcycles distributed to the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, all geared towards strengthening the fight against insecurity in the state.
