Birnin Kebbi, December 25, 2025 — Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to Nigerians, urging them to embrace peace, unity, and hope as the country marks the festive season.
In a goodwill message, the Governor described Christmas as a season of joy, reflection, fervent prayers, and the sharing of love and kindness among citizens, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
He noted that the yuletide period offers Nigerians another opportunity to pray for divine intervention in the affairs of Kebbi State and the nation at large, expressing confidence that God remains firmly in control of Nigeria’s destiny.
Governor Idris emphasized that Nigeria’s multi-religious and multi-ethnic composition is a divine blessing designed to strengthen unity, peaceful coexistence, and national cohesion. He called on citizens to continue promoting tolerance, mutual respect, and understanding as essential ingredients for sustainable development.
The Governor further urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and resolute, expressing optimism that the country would witness improved economic and social conditions in the near future. According to him, this confidence is anchored on the collective efforts of all tiers of government to uplift the living standards of the people.
He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration, alongside that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to steering Kebbi State and the nation towards greater heights, citing notable achievements recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare delivery, agriculture, and social empowerment over the past two years.
Governor Idris also stressed the importance of unity and cooperation among Nigerians, describing them as critical to economic recovery and national prosperity. He appealed to affluent citizens to extend support to the less privileged, noting that acts of generosity would foster peace, harmony, and collective progress across the state and the country.
