The Kebbi State House of Assembly has passed two important bills into law — one establishing the Kebbi State Information Technology Development Agency and another repealing and re-enacting the State and Local Government Contributory Pension Law.

The bills were adopted after reports were presented by the Chairman of the House Committee on Innovation and Digital Economy, Hon. Adamu Muhammad Birnin Yauri, and the Chairman of the Committee on Security and General Administration, Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Lolo.

Hon. Adamu Muhammad Birnin Yauri expressed optimism that the IT Development Agency bill, once assented to by Governor Nasir Idris, will drive socio-economic growth through technology.

On his part, Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Lolo said the pension law will enhance pension administration and improve the welfare of workers and retirees in the state.

Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammad Sama’ila Bagudo, who presided over the plenary, commended the committees for their efforts, stressing that the passage of the bills demonstrates the assembly’s commitment to addressing the needs of the people.

Meanwhile, the House has also passed the Kebbi State Senior Secondary Education Board Establishment Bill 2025 for first and second reading and committed it to the relevant committee for further legislative action.
