Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to implementing projects that directly address the needs and aspirations of the people of the state.
The governor stated this while speaking with journalists in Birnin Kebbi on the APC Presidential Primaries, shortly before departing for Abuja for the APC presidential primaries.
Governor Nasir Idris said his administration would continue to prioritise people-oriented projects aimed at improving the living conditions of residents across Kebbi State, stressing that government policies and programmes would remain focused on initiatives that have direct impact on the populace.
He also reaffirmed Kebbi State’s unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the President had continued to complement the efforts of the state government through various interventions and developmental support.
According to him, Kebbi was the first state to endorse President Tinubu for a second term in office, describing the endorsement as a demonstration of appreciation for the President’s contributions to the development of the state.
Governor Idris expressed appreciation to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their massive turnout during the primaries and for voting in support of President Tinubu.
He further commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise, describing it as a reflection of the unity, discipline and political maturity of APC members in Kebbi State.
The governor also lauded members of the media for their role in publicising the activities and achievements of his administration.
He assured journalists of continued cooperation and support, acknowledging their contributions in educating and informing the public on the developmental strides recorded by his government.
Meanwhile, Governor Nasir Idris earlier received members of the Kebbi State APC Primary Election and Appeal Committees on a courtesy visit at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
Leader of the delegation, Abdul Malik Mahmud, commended the state government and the APC leadership in Kebbi for the warm reception and support extended to the committees, which he said made their assignment easier.
Mahmud expressed satisfaction with the level of unity and orderliness displayed by party members during the exercise, noting that Kebbi had become a model for other states to emulate.
In his response, Governor Idris commended the committees for conducting peaceful and successful primary elections in the state.
