The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Kebbi State Directorate, has reiterated its commitment to a robust public enlightenment drive on the upcoming national tax laws, set to commence in January 2026.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi by Larai Saminu Nazo, Assistant Director of Media and Communication, the agency revealed that NOA headquarters has completed consultations with the Tax Reform Committee Chairman, equipping the directorate with essential details for comprehensive sensitization.
NOA State Director Muhammed Nasir Karofi highlighted that the Kebbi directorate had previously consulted diverse stakeholders during the reforms’ legislative stage.
He affirmed that intensified awareness initiatives are now underway to empower citizens with a clear understanding of their obligations under the new framework.
In another update, NOA Director addressed public concerns regarding the N10 billion loan secured by the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board to fulfill NAHCON’s payment requirements. He praised Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris and Agency Chairman Alhaji Faruku Musa Yaro Enabo for their decisive intervention, which preserved Hajj slots for prospective pilgrims.
The directorate pledged to leverage all available communication channels to amplify education on the tax regime and encourage proactive civic participation throughout Kebbi State.
