The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kebbi State Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace and security in the state.
Speaking in Birnin Kebbi to mark the International Day of Peace, the State Commandant, Kabiru Abubakar Alkamawa, said peace and security are inseparable, stressing that without peace there can be no development, and without development, peace cannot last.
With this year’s theme “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” Alkamawa urged citizens to rise above differences of tribe, religion, or politics, and embrace their shared humanity.
He described peace as more than the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice, equality, and mutual respect.
The Commandant called on communities to promote dialogue, tolerance, and cooperation while rejecting violence, crime, and extremism.
