Progressive Governors Reaffirm Commitment to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, commending the President for his visionary leadership and reforms driving national transformation.

This was contained in a communiqué signed by the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and issued at the end of the PGF meeting held in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital.

Reading the communiqué, Senator Uzodinma congratulated new members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, and party leaders in the state. He said their entry into the APC marks another milestone in strengthening national unity and progressive leadership across the country.

The Forum assured the new members of full integration into its governance and policy structures, while commending President Tinubu and the APC leadership for steering the party into a new era of inclusivity, ideological clarity, and national consolidation.

The Governors undertook a comprehensive review of the nation’s political, security, and socioeconomic landscape and expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation between the Federal and State Governments. They highlighted progress in fiscal reforms, food security, power sector stabilization, infrastructure modernization, and social intervention programmes.

The Forum commended President Tinubu for the successes recorded in the economy and national security, noting that inflation is declining, interest rates are reducing, and revenue generation across all tiers of government has improved under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

It also applauded the introduction of the Renewed Hope Ward-Based Programme aimed at empowering Nigerians across all 8,809 wards, describing it as a model of cooperative federalism and inclusive development.

The Governors reaffirmed their determination to promote fiscal discipline, accountability, and transparency, while supporting all Federal Government policies. They commended ongoing national security reforms, improved coordination between federal, state, and local security agencies, and pledged continued support for community policing, intelligence-driven operations, and investment in security technology and personnel welfare.

The Forum sympathized with citizens affected by insecurity and pledged solidarity with the victims and their families.

Welcoming the new APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwada, the Governors wished him a successful tenure and assured him of their unwavering support.

They emphasized the need to translate economic reforms into grassroots prosperity through targeted investments in agriculture, mining, medium-scale enterprises, youth innovation, social protection, and digital enterprise.

The Forum also resolved to strengthen economic diversification and rural development frameworks to ensure equitable growth across the federation, commending APC-led states for pioneering fiscal transparency and creative partnerships that unlock productivity through public-private collaboration.

The Governors celebrated the growing number of Nigerians, including elected officials, joining the APC nationwide — describing it as a testament to the party’s clear ideology, performance-based leadership, and President Tinubu’s unifying vision for national rebirth.

Reaffirming their faith in a united, prosperous, and secure Nigeria, the Governors pledged to strengthen policy coordination, foster inter-state collaboration, and drive innovation across all APC states.

They also appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to embrace dialogue for the sake of the nation’s education system and the future of Nigerian students.

Finally, the Progressive Governors called on all Nigerians to remain steadfast in supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and to work with their state governments in building a new era of stability, justice, and national progress.

Governors that attended the meeting include Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Dr Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto, Senator Uba Sani of Kaduna, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, AbdurRahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara, Babajide Sanwo-olu of Lagos, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, Sheriff Oborewori of Delta, Monday Okphebolo of Edo, Usman Ododo of Kogi, Umar Mohammed Bago of Niger, Alex Otti of cross river as well as the Deputy Governors of Borno, Yobe and Ebonyi states.
