Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across the state, as he received a delegation from a global security consortium, G-Safety, at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
The consortium, which specializes in advanced intelligence and technological security solutions, visited the state on Wednesday to explore areas of collaboration aimed at bolstering the operations of security agencies and enhancing intelligence gathering mechanisms.
Governor Idris described the visit as timely and strategic, noting that Kebbi State has continued to prioritize the safety of its citizens amid ongoing security challenges affecting parts of the Northwest.
> “We invited them to advise and work with us so that our security agencies can understand, respond effectively, and live up to expectations in addressing challenges in some local government areas,” the Governor said.
“We want to hear what they have to offer, agree on workable terms, and if convinced, see how we can collaborate to achieve lasting peace,” he added.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Ahmed Saleh Junior, Security Consultant for G-Safety, explained that the company — headquartered in Beijing, China, with over 36 branches globally — provides comprehensive security solutions to governments and institutions worldwide.
He noted that Kebbi, like other states in Northwestern Nigeria, has faced threats from criminal elements, particularly the terrorist group Lakurawa. G-Safety’s intervention, he said, would complement federal efforts to restore peace in the region.
> “The Federal Government has deployed significant military, paramilitary, and intelligence assets across the country to address the menace of the Lakurawa group. Our role is to support these efforts by providing advanced intelligence and technological support, enabling people to sleep with their two eyes closed,” Ahmed stated.
He further disclosed that the consortium plans to assist Kebbi State in generating credible and actionable intelligence crucial for effective security operations.
> “We are offering the Kebbi State Government a first-class, state-of-the-art digital intelligence collection and collation system to strengthen coordination with existing federal security structures. Our goal is to help counter and stamp out the tide of insecurity in the state,” he affirmed.
The meeting marks a significant step in Kebbi State’s ongoing efforts to enhance security coordination and improve the capacity of its security agencies through global partnerships.
