The Kebbi State House of Assembly has commenced a public hearing on the Senior Secondary School Board Establishment Bill 202.
The bill, which was presented by the Executive, is aimed at strengthening the administration and supervision of senior secondary education in the state.
During the public hearing, the House Committee on Education, chaired by Hon. Muhammad Garba Bena, engaged with a delegation from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education led by its Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Kabiru Labbo Jega.
Hon. Bena explained that the exercise is to ensure that stakeholders’ inputs are considered in order to produce a law that will effectively address challenges in the sector before its passage.
Speaking to newsmen after the deliberations, Alhaji Kabiru Labbo Jega noted that, if passed into law, the bill would greatly improve teaching and learning standards in secondary schools across Kebbi State.
