The Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has suspended its State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru, and the party’s Chairman in Zuru Local Government Area, Honorable Aliyu Abubakar Abiola, over alleged violations of party rules and procedures.
The suspension was announced in a statement signed by the APC State Secretary, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Kimba, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the statement, the disciplinary action followed complaints from party stakeholders within the Zuru Emirate, who accused the suspended officials of displaying a lukewarm attitude towards party activities, inadequate engagement with stakeholders, poor mobilization efforts, and non-compliance with established party principles and procedures.
The party said it conducted an internal review and investigation into the allegations before arriving at the decision.
Following the suspension, the Deputy State Chairman has been directed to assume leadership of the party in an acting capacity pending further directives, while Honorable Aliyu Abubakar Abiola has also been relieved of his duties as APC Chairman in Zuru Local Government Area.
Meanwhile, the Kebbi State Government has suspended the Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabir Usman Alaramma Zuru.
The suspension was announced in a separate statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida.
According to the statement, the suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in force until further notice.
The government has directed the commissioner to hand over all official responsibilities and government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the ministry pending further action.
No official reason was provided for the commissioner’s suspension.
