Consensus Leadership Emerges as Kebbi APC Holds Orderly Congress

Governor Nasir Idris has assured that his administration will continue to uphold justice and fairness within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and among its members in Kebbi State.

The governor gave the assurance during the party’s State Congress held in Birnin Kebbi. He described the orderly conduct of the congress as a clear demonstration that the APC in Kebbi remains one united family. He also expressed appreciation to the delegation from the party’s national headquarters for monitoring the exercise.

Governor Nasir Idris congratulated the newly elected state party executives and urged them to strengthen the unity and structure of the APC in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Chairman of the Congress Committee, Hon. Modibbo Bello, disclosed that reports received by the committee indicated that party leaders in the state emerged through a consensus arrangement.

He announced the newly elected officials as Abubakar Kana Zuru as Chairman; Saidu Mohammed Kimba as Secretary; Sahabi Lolo as Assistant Secretary; Bello Abubakar Bayawa as Legal Adviser; Attahiru Tsamiya as Assistant Legal Adviser; Bello Abubakar as Treasurer; Ibrahim A. I. Suru as Financial Secretary; Isa Abubakar Assalafi as Public Relations Officer; Mohammed Mai Kwanu Koko as Auditor; and Aisha Abubakar Gunabi as Women Leader, among others.

The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, commended Governor Idris for his efforts in uniting the party and strengthening its structure. He urged the newly elected state executives to remain loyal to the Kauran Gwandu administration.

Speaking on behalf of the new executives, Abubakar Kana Zuru thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in them and reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty and commitment to supporting his administration’s success. He also expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his contributions to the development of Kebbi State.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kebbi State, Abubakar Sarkin Fawa Dambo, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the congress, noting that the exercise was carried out successfully.
