The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has commiserated with the Kebbi State Government and the Zuru Emirate over the death of the Emir of Zuru, retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami (Sami Gomo II).
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who visited the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, described the late Emir as a statesman whose passing was a great loss not only to Kebbi State but to the entire nation.
He noted that the Northern Traditional Council would deeply miss his contributions, particularly his professional military input toward sustaining peace and stability in Nigeria.
The Emir urged the immediate family of the deceased, the Kebbi State Government, and the people of Zuru Emirate to accept the will of Allah in good faith.
The royal father also used the visit to congratulate the newly appointed Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Sanusi Mikailu Sami (Sami Gomo III), praying for wisdom and strength to lead inclusively for the progress and development of the emirate and Kebbi State at large.
Earlier, the Emir of Kano paid a condolence visit to the Zuru Emirate Council and the family of the late Emir in Zuru, Zuru Local Government Area.
In his response, Governor Nasir Idris expressed gratitude to the Emir for identifying with the people of Kebbi in their moment of grief.
“On behalf of the Kebbi State Government, the immediate family members of the late Emir, and the entire people of the state, we are most grateful for this visit. May Allah reward you abundantly,” the Governor said
