Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has hailed the Chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro (Enabo), for organising what he described as the largest empowerment programme in the history of the state.
The initiative, executed under the Alhaji Faruk Enabo Foundation, reached over 10,000 beneficiaries in Marafa Ward of Birnin Kebbi Local Government. Items distributed included 50 cars, 100 motorcycles, 50 water pumps, 5,000 bags of assorted grains, sports jerseys, and cash assistance amounting to ₦250 million.
Governor Idris lauded Enabo for remembering APC supporters and urged other politicians and office holders to emulate the gesture.
“I will not hesitate to support any individual like Enabo who carries his people along,” the governor assured.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to empowerment, Governor Idris said democracy must be about improving the lives of the people. He announced plans to roll out more initiatives targeting women, youths, and farmers, particularly through free fertilizer and agricultural inputs.
The governor also called on Kebbi people to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC, noting that Tinubu had delivered several projects to the state and deserved a second term.
Similarly, former Kebbi State Governor and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, praised Enabo’s initiative and encouraged other stakeholders to replicate such efforts in their respective wards.
The governor’s wives, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris and Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, also commended Enabo’s benevolence, especially towards women, while donating cash, clothing, and ₦10 million to women’s groups in Marafa Ward.
Other dignitaries at the event, including the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru; Ubandoman Gwandu, Alhaji Saddiq Saad; Alhaji Nasiru Langu, and Alhaji Sanusi Jinsy, joined in applauding Enabo’s efforts and urged continued government support for his initiatives.
In his remarks, Enabo credited his inspiration to both Senator Bagudu and Governor Idris, pledging to sustain people-centered programmes. He stressed that true politics was about winning hearts through positive impact, not acrimony.
