Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, says his administration will soon introduce welfare packages for teachers across the state, including car and housing loan schemes.

The Governor made the disclosure at Emir Haruna Rasheed College in Birnin Kebbi while commissioning furniture provided by his administration.

Governor Idris explained that the furniture supplied to schools is part of his campaign promise to give urgent attention to the education sector. He added that another batch of furniture will soon be distributed, with a fifty-fifty allocation to basic and secondary schools across the state.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Mohammed Bande, revealed that a total of 12,779 pieces of furniture were procured for both teachers and students.

Dr. Halima Bande described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to improving education in Kebbi State. She attributed the administration’s achievements in the sector to Governor Idris’ background as a teacher.

The Commissioner thanked the Governor on behalf of parents, teachers and students for his numerous interventions aimed at uplifting the standard of education in the state.
