Governor Idris Pledges to Sustain Development Drive, Honoured with Traditional Title by ZADA

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has restated his administration’s resolve to sustain the tempo of infrastructural development and social welfare programmes across the state.

The Governor gave the assurance on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi when leaders of the Zabarmawa Development Association (ZADA) paid him a courtesy visit.

Dr. Nasir Idris, who recalled that his emergence as Governor was divinely destined, said he would continue to cherish the mandate and work relentlessly for the progress of Kebbi State.

> “We will continue to improve welfare, security, and comfort for all citizens fairly, equally, and equitably. The state belongs to all of us,” he said.

He commended the Zabarmawa people for their support and contributions to the development of the state and announced a ₦50 million donation to the community to boost empowerment and entrepreneurship initiatives. The Governor also disclosed that measures would be taken to ease the voter registration process in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections to ensure inclusiveness.

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning and former Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Atiku Bagudu, who was present at the event, lauded Governor Idris for his achievements in infrastructural development, noting that the progress recorded under his leadership has attracted both national and international recognition.

Earlier, the Sarkin Zabarmawan Besse, Alhaji Bello, who led the ZADA delegation, thanked the Governor for his support, particularly the approval of appointments for Ward and District Heads. He pledged the association’s continued loyalty to the administration.

Similarly, the Sarkin Zabarmawan Kebbi and former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Samaila Abdulmumin Kamba, described Governor Idris as a transparent and purposeful leader who has delivered remarkable achievements in just two years.

In recognition of his efforts, the Zabarmawa community conferred on the Governor the traditional title of Garkuwan Zabarmawan Najeriya (Shield of the Zabarmawa people of Nigeria).

An elated Governor Idris expressed gratitude for the honour, saying the recognition would inspire him to redouble his efforts in serving the people of Kebbi State.
