Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has signed into law the 2025 Revised Appropriation Bill totaling over N580 billion, as passed by the State House of Assembly.
The signing ceremony took place at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, shortly after the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, presented the document to the governor.
Governor Idris commended the cordial working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government, noting that his administration has never experienced any disagreement with the Assembly. He expressed gratitude to the Speaker and members for their understanding and collaboration in advancing the state’s development. The governor also assured that his administration would continue to carry the legislature along in the implementation of government policies and programmes.
Presenting the revised bill, Speaker Muhammad Usman Zuru explained that its passage followed exhaustive scrutiny and adjustments to ensure that the provisions align with Kebbi State’s development priorities.
The Speaker also presented a resolution of the Assembly seeking the governor’s approval to rename the newly constructed Government Day Secondary School, Tondi, in Yauri Local Government Area in honour of the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammadu Zayyanu Abdullahi. The proposed new name is Sarki Muhammadu Zayyanu Abdullahi Day Secondary School.
In addition, the Assembly extended goodwill messages to the government and people of Kebbi State on the occasion of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary. The Speaker commended Governor Idris for his visionary leadership and prayed for peace and prosperity in both Kebbi State and the country at large.
He further reaffirmed the legislature’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with the executive to uphold fiscal discipline, promote sustainable economic growth, and drive the overall development of the state.
