KDF, Emir of Gwandu Partner to Boost Electricity Service Delivery in Kebbi

The Kebbi Development Forum (KDF) has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gwandu as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration toward improved electricity service delivery in Kebbi State.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Usman Abubakar Gwandu, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to lead the electricity stakeholders’ engagement committee under KDF, while conveying goodwill and prayers for the continued good health of the Emir, Mohammed Iliyasu Bashar.

Alhaji Usman said KDF is a non-political and non-governmental body working to promote good leadership and address key challenges in Kebbi State, including strengthening dialogue among stakeholders in the electricity sector.

He explained that the visit, carried out in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency and Kaduna Electric, was aimed at exploring practical ways of improving power supply and stimulating economic development, while urging residents to support government efforts through regular payment of electricity bills.

Responding, the Emir of Gwandu, represented by Wazirin Gwandu, Alhaji Aminullahi, appreciated the visit and assured the delegation of the Emirate Council’s full support, noting that the Emir was fully aware of the engagement and commending KDF for its proactive approach.

The engagement later continued at Kebbi State College of Nursing, where the Kebbi State Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Engineer Abdulsalam Abubakar, educated participants on the rights and responsibilities of electricity consumers and distribution companies.

The forum attracted key stakeholders and ended with assurances of reforms by Kaduna Electric, as participants pledged to work together to improve power supply and promote sustainable development in Kebbi State.
