Kebbi Assembly Vows Speedy, Thorough Review of 2026 Budget

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has pledged a thorough yet speedy consideration of the 2026 Appropriation Bill presented today by Governor Nasir Idris.

 

The proposed budget, estimated at over ₦642 billion, was laid before lawmakers at the Assembly chamber in Birnin Kebbi.

 

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Usman Zuru, assured that the legislature remains committed to diligent scrutiny of the budget while ensuring its prompt passage.

 

He noted that quick approval would enable the government to commence timely implementation of key projects and programmes across the state.

 

The Speaker commended Governor Idris for what he described as remarkable achievements in the past two years, including road construction, improved healthcare facilities, school upgrades, agricultural development, empowerment initiatives, and the elevation of traditional institutions.

 

On security, the Speaker reaffirmed the Assembly’s readiness to continue making laws that strengthen Kebbi’s security architecture and support the governor’s ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property.
