Governor Idris Commends NANS President for Advocating Students’ Welfare

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has applauded the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Ladoja Olusola, for his steadfast commitment to promoting the welfare and success of Nigerian students.

 

Receiving the NANS president and his delegation at the Government House, Governor Idris urged the student leader to remain steadfast in carrying out the “herculean task” of championing student interests nationwide. He reiterated that his administration is one that prioritises youth development, noting that several young people have been appointed into the State Executive Council as part of efforts to empower the next generation.

 

The Governor also expressed gratitude to the delegation for their visit and for standing with the state during the recent abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi. He said the gesture reflects the harmonious relationship between the state and the nation’s leadership.

 

Governor Idris further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift and proactive response, alongside the Minister of State for Defence, the National Security Adviser, Director General of the DSS, and military service chiefs, for diligently executing the President’s directive that led to the rescue of the abducted students.

 

In his earlier remarks, NANS President Comrade Ladoja Olusola said the association visited to both commiserate with the state over the incident and celebrate the successful rescue of the schoolgirls. He called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the withdrawal of military personnel from the school prior to the attack.

 

Comrade Olusola praised Governor Idris for his courage and resilience throughout the crisis, describing his actions—especially his bold demand for answers from the military—as a mark of true leadership and comradeship.
