The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Mohammed Usman Zuru, has reaffirmed his commitment to following the footsteps of the State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, in delivering impactful services to humanity and prioritizing the welfare of the people.
The Speaker made this known when he received members of the Shadawanka Community Cooperative Association from Rikoto Area, Zuru, at his residence.
Led by their Chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Na’Allah, the association visited the Speaker to express their appreciation for his continuous humanitarian support and to seek his urgent intervention over a faulty transformer that has kept their community in darkness for more than seven months.
Also present at the visit was the Service Centre Manager for 11KV Rikoto, Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO)Zuru Area Office, who commended the Speaker’s notable efforts toward improving electricity supply in Zuru town and surrounding communities.
In response, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Usman Zuru expressed gratitude to the community for their recognition and assured them of his dedication to service, in line with Governor Nasir Idris’s vision for the state.
In a prompt gesture of intervention, the Speaker presented N2.617 million naira in cash to the KAEDCO Service Manager, Mr. Basiru Ibrahim, covering the estimated cost to repair the faulty transformer and directed immediate restoration of power to the affected area.
The Speaker also highlighted ongoing collaborations with the National Rural Electrification Agency and the State Rural Electrification Board, which have led to the provision of multiple transformers and improved power supply in Zuru and its environs.
