The Kebbi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with Radio Nigeria Equity FM, Birnin Kebbi, to enhance the dissemination of information on government policies and programmes.
The State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmad Birnin Kebbi, stated this while leading other media aides to the Kebbi State Governor on a familiarization visit to Radio Nigeria Equity FM, Birnin Kebbi.
He said the government was seeking greater support and cooperation from the station to effectively publicize policies and programmes that positively impact the lives of the people of the state.
According to the Commissioner, the delegation visited the station to appreciate its management and staff for their continued support and cooperation with the state government, while also exploring avenues for stronger collaboration for the mutual benefit of both the government and the station.
Yakubu Ahmad Birnin Kebbi explained that similar visits had been made to media organizations in Lagos, Abuja, and Kano, including the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Headquarters in Abuja, as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with the media.
He noted that the government requires increased media support to effectively disseminate information on the developmental projects executed by the administration of Governor Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu).
The Commissioner added that the Kauran Gwandu administration has fulfilled over 90 percent of its campaign promises and continues to implement more people-oriented projects across the state.
Responding, the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Equity FM, Birnin Kebbi, Malam Adamu Ahmad Muhammad, represented by the Head of the Programmes Department, Hajiya Fatima Yahaya Bawa, described the visit as a testament to the shared commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and effective communication.
She said the station remains committed to supporting the present administration and noted that the visit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration in enhancing public communication for the overall development of Kebbi State.
Hajiya Fatima Yahaya Bawa appealed to the Kebbi State Government to assist the station with the provision of furniture, a battery inverter, and perimeter fencing to improve security and operational efficiency. She also commended the state government for executing meaningful developmental projects across the state.
Members of the delegation included the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Sarki; the Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment and Orientation, Alhaji Ibrahim Jombali; the Special Adviser on New Media, Alhaji Abubakar Bandado; and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Ahmad Idris.
