Technicians, mechanics, and machine operators in Jega Local Government Area have received specialized training on proper lubricant use and maintenance practices aimed at improving engine performance and extending the lifespan of machines and vehicles.
The training, organized by MRS Oil Nigeria Plc Lubricants in collaboration with local stakeholders, was held in Jega, and attracted participants from Jega town and neighbouring communities.
Declaring the training open, the organizer of the programme, Aliyu Abdullahi, said the initiative was designed to equip local artisans with practical knowledge to reduce engine breakdowns, lower maintenance costs, and improve productivity for commercial drivers, farmers, and small-scale business operators in the area.
He explained that participants were taken through practical demonstrations on viscosity checks, oil change intervals, and engine diagnostics, while lubricant samples were distributed for trial use.
According to him, similar capacity-building programmes would also be extended to other parts of Kebbi State as part of efforts to support small businesses and reduce the cost of vehicle and machine maintenance.
In his remarks, the representative of the MRS headquarters, Ahmed Sardauna, said the company remained committed to promoting proper oil maintenance practices across the country, noting that MRS Oil Nigeria Plc remained a major player in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.
A cross section of participants expressed appreciation for the practical lessons provided during the exercise, describing the programme as timely and beneficial.
Thereafter, the organizer of the training programme, alongside the representative of MRS Headquarters, paid a royal homage to the Sarkin Kabin Jega, Arzuka Bawa Jega, who commended the initiative and advised the company to sustain and expand similar programmes to other communities for greater impact.
