The partnership was reached during a joint meeting held on Tuesday at the NTA Headquarters in Abuja.

The Director-General of the NTA, Mallam Abdulhamid Salisu Dambos, and the Director-General of the Argungu International Fishing Festival, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, led their respective delegations, where the scope of collaboration and areas of mutual support were extensively discussed.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the AIFF, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, described the NTA as a critical partner in the collective aspiration to stage what he termed “the best Argungu Fishing Festival ever.” He commended the management of the NTA for its strong sense of national duty and sustained commitment to cultural promotion under the current leadership.

Alhaji Bena called for a more dynamic and forward-looking partnership between both institutions to elevate the festival to international standards and further position it as a major tourism attraction.

Members of the delegation included the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK; Commissioner for Commerce and Tourism, Alhaji Usman Abubakar Ladan; Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabiru Usman Alaramma; Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Zayyanu Aliero; Deputy Rector of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Dr. Isyaku Abdullahi; Special Adviser to the Deputy Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Ibrahim Argungu; and the Secretary of the Main Committee, Malam Nasir Hassan.
