Former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana, has revealed that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan will run for president in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Professor Gana made the disclosure while speaking to journalists after the PDP congress in Minna, Niger State.
He expressed confidence that Jonathan would defeat incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and return to power a decade after leaving office.
Dr. Good luck Jonathan, who lost his re-election bid in 2015 to Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had previously declared that his political ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians.
The former Minister said Nigerians, having experienced two presidents since Jonathan’s exit, were now eager for his return, insisting that the “difference is very clear.”
He urged PDP members and Nigerians to prepare to support Jonathan, stressing that the former president remains the party’s best hope of reclaiming power in 2027.
