The Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami, Sami Gomo III, has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to education by converting a ₦100 million gift from his business partners, Green Way Agrotech, into a donation to the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru.
The Emir announced that the funds should be directed towards research purposes and the payment of scholarships for qualified indigent students whose parents cannot afford the financial requirements for admission.
According to him, the gesture is aimed at complementing the efforts of Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, in improving the standard of education across the state.
Alhaji Sanusi Sami Gomo III said his decision was motivated by gratitude to Allah for his blessings and the opportunity to serve his people, describing his appointment as divinely ordained.
The Emir’s decision to channel the N100 million gift into education has been widely commended, as it is expected to significantly boost research capacity and promote access to higher education for less privileged students in the emirate.
Observers note that by prioritizing education, the Emir is making a long-term investment in the socio-economic growth and development of Zuru Emirate and Kebbi State at large.
