Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has officially submitted his governorship nomination form to the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general election, signaling his intention to seek a second term in office.
The nomination form was submitted on Monday at the Sheraton Abuja Hotel, where the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, received it on behalf of the party.
Speaking during the event, Suleiman Argungu expressed confidence in Governor Idris’s leadership and electoral chances, citing the administration’s achievements in infrastructure and human development across Kebbi State.
According to him, the APC remains proud of the governor’s performance and optimistic about the party’s prospects in the 2027 governorship election.
Responding on behalf of the governor, Deputy Governor Abubakar Umar-Tafida appreciated the support of the party leadership and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to consolidating on its achievements.
He also appealed to the people of Kebbi State to continue supporting the administration, assuring them of more democratic dividends and development projects.
Among dignitaries present at the event were the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; former lawmakers Adamu Aliero and Yahaya Abdullahi; Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala-Tafida; Acting Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Samaila Muhammad Bagudo; and Senator Muhammad Magoro.
Others included the state APC Chairman, Abubakar Kana Zuru, members of the National Assembly, commissioners, party executives, political appointees, and local government officials.
The submission of the nomination form marks a significant step in Governor Idris’s preparations for the 2027 governorship race as he seeks a renewed mandate to continue his administration’s development agenda in Kebbi State.
