NOA, IPAC Partner to Curb Hate Speech in Kebbi

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in collaboration with the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Kebbi State Chapter, has held a meeting in Birnin Kebbi to address the rising cases of hate speech, misinformation, and political intolerance in the state.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, participants expressed concern over the growing culture of political bitterness, describing it as dangerous to peace and democracy. They stressed the need for tolerance, responsible communication, and constructive opposition among politicians and their supporters.

The meeting called on NOA to expand engagement with traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, and other stakeholders to promote harmony and mutual respect.

Participants commended the NOA Kebbi Directorate for its proactive initiative and pledged to partner with the agency in peace-building and anti-hate speech campaigns across all local government areas.

They also urged INEC to intensify voter sensitization and enforce sanctions against political parties that violate electoral laws, while encouraging greater participation of women in politics and leadership.
