President Bola Tinubu has taken a major step toward seeking a second term in office, following the purchase of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Expression of Interest and Nomination forms ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The forms, reportedly valued at one hundred million naira, were obtained on his behalf by the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, during a ceremony held in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, confirmed the commencement of the party’s nomination process and formally presented the documents.

The development signals the early phase of President Tinubu’s re-election bid within the ruling party, as political activities gradually build toward the 2027 general elections.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has fixed January 16, 2027, for the presidential and National Assembly elections, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls are scheduled for February 6, 2027.

INEC also announced that party primaries will take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026, with campaigns for presidential and National Assembly elections set to begin on August 19, 2026.
