A maiden editorial meeting with the new Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria Kaduna was held on Wednesday, 10th September 2025.

The meeting, which commenced at 10 AM, had in attendance all the management staff of the department and other members of staff.
Adressing the staff, the Zonal Director of FRCN Kaduna, Mr Haruna Idris, expressed his priority to news, emphasising that negligence to duty will no longer be tolerated and warned against indiscipline.

He aired his dismay about the unhygienic environment and called for a change of attitude by doing the right thing.
He explained that everyone has a role to play, hence the need for teamwork, adding that he will not condone indecent behaviour.

Additionally, Idris warned all staff against African time, pointing out that defaulters would be queried as every action must have its consequences, whether negative or positive.
According to him, he has been a practising journalist for over twenty-five years, reaffirming his commitment to transform the newsroom as well as the organisation as a whole.
Mr. Haruna Idris, directed that henceforth, the news must produce quality content of twenty-five minutes to maintain the reputation of Radio Nigeria Kaduna.
The Zonal Director advised staff of the News and Current Affairs to be committed to their duties effectively in accordance with the rules and regulations of the organisation.
“Nobody should have self-entitlement. Anyone who does not want to work should resign and give a chance to those who have an interest in the job. It’s not by force you must work in FRCN because many people are not doing their work,” Idris emphasised.
Idris announced that the general meeting will be monthly, henceforth, adding that attendance is mandatory for each staff member and warned against late coming.
“If I said 10 am, I mean 10 am. Therefore, everyone must be punctual whenever I fix a meeting. On the news content, I always listened to the news. Therefore, everyone must be very serious about what he or she does.

Alhaji Haruna Idris further reaffirmed his commitment to address the challenges of the organisation in phases by the will of God and solicited positive advice and ideas that will move the station forward.
He, however, promised to be fair to all irrespective of differences.
Earlier, in the opening remarks, the Deputy Director News (DDN) Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Gombi emphasized the need for all staff to be committed to their duties
He decried the high level of indiscipline in the department and called for attitudinal change and urged them to rally round to support the Zonal Director to achieve his set goals of transforming the station.
